Panning two mono tracks of the same source however, allows you correct panning controls within a stereo field of the two mics. The panning of a stereo track does not 'pan', it balances the two signals left and right. In Logic, you can record audio into a single stereo track with two mics or into two seperate mono audio tracks - one for the left and one for the right mic respectively. This is referring to the recording of acoustic guitars/instruments or guitar cabs with more than one mic into individual mono channels for each mic, and the way that panning in Logic works. I've offered myself multiple options: a) i use SpaceDesigner, myself, as well as b) a patch within NativeInstrument's Reaktor 5-FX (for much longer, more animated reverbs), c) a Lexicon PCM80 & d) a Neunaber StereoWet (pedal), both of which i actually record,Īnd e) a very beautiful-sounding, relatively inexpensive plug-in called "Reverberate". I really think that adjusting the EQ is important in taking some of the sterility out of the reverb. I occasionally put a compressor after the reverb, not for compression but for warmth. I always change the 'sound' of the reverb in the EQ panel (it's button is towards the top right of the menu bar in the main window of SD), cutting the lows (below 60Hz) and highs (above 5-6kHz) and sometimes add 3db around 600Hz with a pretty broad Q. I control the mix of the reverb with the aux bus fader. Like David above, I almost always set it up into a bus and have the left and right channels feeding the bus. For acoustic/Classical guitar I'll use Space Designer and I quite often go for 03.0s Hansa Studio + in Medium Spaces > Rooms, sometimes 06.1s Ancient Church + in Large Spaces > Halls.
